Overview:
The Sr. Technical Project Manager is the single point of contact for non-routine to
complex installation projects. The position reports to the Manager Federal Programs and is an integral part of the Project Management Office (PMO). The Sr. Technical Project Manager works with a team of Project Managers, Security/Network engineers, Sales, and other teams for meeting contractual performance criteria and due dates during service delivery, and successful overall project completion. The Technical Project Manager is responsible for leading strategic and tactical projects that impact a specific application or suite of related applications.


This role requires skilled execution of the following key tasks and project elements:

  8. Metrics management
  9. Change control


The Main Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Technical PM responsible for all aspects of the planning and execution of all technical requirements within your defined area of responsibility
  • Strong technical understanding of Cybersecurity architecture and engineering, including tools and technologies is required
  • Provide thought leadership and drive technical direction within and across the program
  • Interface with client's senior management personnel, to include supporting briefings up to CIO/CISO level
  • Manage scope, schedule, cost, technical, and staffing performance and activities on major, complex projects to ensure timely and quality delivery of services to the client
  • Manage subcontractors to ensure their strict adherence to Lumen and client standards of quality and performance
  • Ensure timely, complete, high-quality contract deliverables; ensure SLAs are met or exceeded 100% of the time
  • Optimize processes to maximize efficiencies within the team and program, including process automation and functional integration across task areas and teams
  • Ability to have technical discussions with engineers across multiple area's
  • Coordinate activities in support of program managers and teams that support the design, installation and maintenance of services
  • Track and monitor projects from initiation through completion
  • Prepare deliverables (e.g., status reports to Government, order information, open issues)
  • Analyze contracts, product and service descriptions, and network technical requirements to identify parameters required to initiate service order processing and project implementation
  • Work directly with Government representatives, engineers and program manager to develop scope of work, timeline, communication plan and all pertinent aspect of comprehensive project management
  • Ensure Government commitments and expectations, and project deliverable requirements are met
  • Identify and anticipate failures and delays based on lessons learned and previous experience
  • Ensure final documents are complete and delivered as required by the contract
  • Ensure services are completed and billed according to contractual obligations
  • Good analytical and inductive reasoning skills (ability to develop solutions and recommendations)
  • Work in a team environment



What We Look for in a Candidate


Experience/Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in project management, technical management, business management, communications, engineering, or related discipline
  • minimum 10 years of professional work experience
  • At least 7 years of experience managing technical teams, projects, and activities
  • Strong leadership, written and verbal communication, and analytic and problem-solving skills are required
  • Technical expertise in at least one of the following areas ofCybersecurity:
    • Operations (e.g., SOC, Incident Response, Insider Threat, Cyber Threat
      Intelligence, Cyber Hunt, Forensics)
    • Governance, Risk, and Compliance (e.g., Policy, Privacy, Security Control
      Assessments, Audit)
    • Architecture and Engineering (i.e., breadth of Cybersecurity tools and
      technologies)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • ITIL certification preferred
  • IT related certifications preferred
  • May be required to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information (applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation)
  • Strong technical understanding of Cybersecurity architecture and engineering, including tools and technologies, is required.
  • Experience in the management and control of complex information technology architectures involving multiple operating systems, databases, networks, and communications subsystems, of similar size and scope especially in a managed service environment
  • Engage appropriate resources to troubleshoot and isolate problems, and develop new procedures if required

  • Must have the ability to work in a dynamic environment and flexibly adapt to changing conditions
  • Must possess a high degree of originality, creativity, and initiative requiring minimal supervision
  • Remain abreast of emerging technologies; practically apply your expertise to bring innovation to the client and program
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, interface with clients senior management personnel, including experience in presenting material to senior Government officials
