Overview of Role:
Delivering exceptional, high-touch, patient-centered care is at the core of Vita's philosophy. Our care involves the use of technology to deliver team-based and evidence-based care focused on general mental health for adolescents and young adults. We also utilize a proprietary electronic protocol and other tools to provide state-of-the-art treatment for suicidality. Our patient acquisition method is unique for a telehealth provider in that we partner with pediatricians and OB/Gyns in our key states to make direct referrals to our service.
We are expanding our clinical team and are looking for a Board Certified Psychiatrist (M.D./D.O.) who is currently licensed in NY, NJ, or PA who is passionate about patient care. Reporting to the CMO, this role will focus heavily on clinical care as well as leadership of a team to include psychiatric APRNs. In this role, the clinician-manager will also collaborate with other clinical and operational leaders to ensure that care protocols, quality oversight, workflows, and outcomes are optimized and meet the strategy of the organization. This person will also be a thought leader and assist our organization in growing and refining our offering.

Scope of Responsibilities:
Clinical Care
- Provide initial evaluations and ongoing care for an ongoing patient panel to include patients aged 12 and above
- Key focus areas may include:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Trauma
- ADHD
- SUD
- COVID/Mental Health
- Prescribe and manage medications, as appropriate
- Prescribe controlled substances, only where allowable and DEA/CDS exists, otherwise participate in collaborative care with primary care provider
- Utilize Vita care pathways and resources to support patient care
- Participate in cross licensure 3-5 states, as well as credentialing
Psychiatric Team Leader
- Lead group clinical consultation meetings and one-on-one clinical supervision
- Provide collaboration for APRNs when these are required by the state
- Provide first line for crisis management for direct reports and for our therapy team with the support of your manager and colleagues
- Lead other educational sessions with your team as needed
- Collaborate on the development of educational programming to support referring providers in identifying and engaging their patients in treatment
Collaboration with Therapy Team
- Accept internal referrals from our therapy team
- Collaborate with the therapists, as appropriate, on the care of patients
- Provide expert leadership for collaborative care case conferences
- Provide feedback to the therapy team to refine the referral process
Administrative Collaboration
- Collaborate with clinical leadership team on strategy and day to day operations
- Provide advice and reviews of care guidelines and protocols
- Support the clinical quality processes, including providing reviews of team members
- Provide occasional educational sessions or updates
- Provide support for software improvement and development of workflows
Team Build:
- Other psychiatry team members- primarily APRns, but may include psychiatrists
- Collaborate with other psychiatry team(s)
- Collaborate with therapy team
Additional
- Assist the risk management and compliance teams
- Development of strong crisis management protocols and screening tools
- Support sales and business development teams with marketing efforts
- Participate in focus groups with the technical team

Qualifications:
- Board Certified Psychiatrist - currently licensed in NY, NJ, or PA
- Active DEA certificate in primary state
- Active CAQH
- Clean background for cross licensure and credentialing preferred
- Telehealth experience is a plus
- Knowledge of Athena EMR a plus
Requirements:
- Conduct clinical assessments of patients and provide medication management from your home office via live, synchronous telehealth encounters
- Complete patient notes in our Electronic Health Records system
- Prescribe medication to reduce mental health symptoms, as needed
- Review and approve individualized service plans and assessments
- Lead a psychiatry team and collaborative with Nurse Practitioners
- Collaborate with members of the patients care team, including the therapy team

- Hours are flexible, however the hours must meet patient hours of availability
