Engrg Specialist, Controls

Ford Motor Company Indianapolis, IN (Onsite) Full-Time
**What you'll be able to do:**

+ Troubleshoot machinery, robot, automation, and controls issues and downtime

+ Use Factory Information Systems (FIS), plant monitoring software, to review cycle times of equipment, review and follow up project installations.

+ Reprogram equipment for engineering changes and improvements

+ Update program backups for machinery and automation

+ Program new installations of automation, machinery, material handling, and robots

+ Review risk assessments as part of a team evaluating equipment safety.

+ Working with Programmable Logic and Controls (PLC)

+ Siemens and Modicon programming

+ Independently troubleshoot all equipment and continuously evaluate equipment for improvement for quality and delivery

+ Works with PLC/Computer Numerical Control (CNC) - Siemens

+ Works with ABB robot

+ Read and modify electrical prints and schematics, Auto CAD

**The minimum requirements we seek:**

+ Bachelors Degree

+ 1+ years' experience with Microsoft Office products

+ 1+ year of Controls Engineering experience (can include co-op/internships)

**Our preferred requirements:**

+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred

+ Electrical background (electrician or technician) preferred

+ Familiarity with VFD, Servo, Profinet

+ Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience

+ Lean Tools - 5S, Kanban, Poka-Yoke, Value Stream Mapping experience

+ TQM and Kaizen methods experience

+ MEA, PPAP, and DOE experience

+ Visual Factory Management experience
