MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES The purpose of this position is to manage spare parts inventory, spare parts purchasing, vendor interaction, and purchasing of materials related to equipment. Parts/Material/Equipment Inventory * Perform inventory cycle counts and verify the spare parts, material, and special equipment are accurate to meet day-to-day operation. * Verify that all parts are checked out of the crib properly and all parts are accounted for. * Support any internal audit activities. * Support departmental tool requirements. * Assign new bioMerieux part numbers as directed. * Help develop a bill of material for every piece of production equipment. * Eliminate obsolete parts from the storeroom. * Fill in as a maintenance technician as necessary. Purchase Spare Parts * Receive spare parts when delivered, and place them into inventory * Steer the Engineering department in the direction to select parts already stocked in the storeroom. * Work with Purchasing to streamline the procurement of spare parts, materials, and special equipment. * Work with Engineering and Purchasing to reduce costs of spare parts. * Maintain contact with reliable suppliers and coordinate prompt delivery of orders. Miscellaneous * Reasonable, reliable attendance and punctuality is an essential job function required for this position.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE JOB: * 5 years minimum in a manufacturing environment. * 3 years minimum in a maintenance environment as a technician. * PC skills including Micro Soft Office Suite. * Knowledge of good manufacturing practices, ISO, and quality system regulations. * Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics. * Working knowledge of industrial parts and catalogs. * Working Knowledge of CMMS systems including SAP/Blue Mountain The following skills are a necessity for the position: * Strong organizational skills. Must be able to organize spare parts effectively in order to retrieve parts quickly. Must also be able to organize work area and promptly put received parts in their proper location. Parts for repair must be sent out quickly after they are received from maintenance personnel. * Good decision making skills. Must have the ability to work unsupervised and operate with great latitude for independent judgment and initiative. * Good communication skills. Must have good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively in order to achieve desired results. * Ability to work individually and within teams. Must have the ability to exchange information on a daily basis. * Ability to analyze mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. * Willing to ask for help when needed. * Leads by example. * Respected within the maintenance department. * Respected within the production units. * Responds to direct commands. * Proactive, sees the need to act before being asked. * Able to read shop drawings. * Able to create minor shop drawings. bioMérieux is an Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action Employer.
