Summary: Goldbelt Glacier is seeking a qualified Pharmacy Technician to collaborate with hospitals, healthcare coalitions, biotech firms, community members, state, local, tribal, and territorial governments, and other partners across the country to improve readiness and response capabilities. The Pharmacy Technician will fill prescriptions under the supervision of Pharmacist in hospital pharmacy or retail establishment and performs a variety of other duties. This position includes 100% travel to all 50 states and US territories. Responsibilities Essential Job Functions: * This position is a traveling role within the United States not designated to one particular location * Mixes pharmaceutical preparations, fills bottles with prescribed tablets and capsules, and types of labels for bottles. * Receives and stores incoming supplies. * Counts stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records. * Processes records of medication and equipment dispensed to hospital patient, computes charges, and enters data in computer. * Cleans equipment and sterilizes glassware according to prescribed methods. * Types and files reports, and completes forms as directed. * Assists in stocking shelves, checking prices, and maintaining inventory. * Research, resolves, and documents prior authorization outcomes in pharmacy system. * Communicates selected prior authorization criteria, pharmacy benefit coverage and formulary alternatives to physicians, physician`s office staff, medical management staff and/or pharmacists. * Escalates requests to Pharmacist when request requires extensive clinical review or denial. * Research, resolves, and documents physician or client inquiries and grievances and provides verbal or written results to client, prescriber, provider and/or management. Qualifications Necessary Skills and Knowledge: * In-depth knowledge of specialty injectable prescription drugs, disease states, health plan formulary management techniques, medical terminology, and current diagnostic. * Efficiently multi-tasks and monitors several queues and assignments. Adapts to team requirements as business needs change * Proficiency in Pharmacy computerized systems and software applications, as well as MS Office Product Suite. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to follow clinical criteria and instructions to approve prior authorization requests. Minimum Qualifications: * Graduated from a formal Pharmacy Technician training program * Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) * Applicable certification according to requirements for specialties, i.e., Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS), etc. * Actively practicing in specialty with minimum experience of three (3) years Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in related field
