Key Account Manager, Packaging Coatings

The Packaging Account Manager will manage and own the commercial relationships with customers in order to drive the top line profitability of the business. This to be achieved by managing existing sales effectively and identifying, developing & closing new sales drawn from a target list of sufficient scale to ensure success.

Owns and leads the sales processes (including CRM, IBP, pricing, forecasting, sales target tracking etc.) for the accounts, segment and region.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Drive new opportunities for AkzoNobel at existing and new customers by building an effective CRM based target list and using sales process steps to achieve new sales growth

  • Prudently manage current sales with customers

  • Deliver profitable growth in line with the mandate strategy for the business through development and implementation of both long term and short-term sales customer plans

  • Work closely with the segment, marketing and TS teams to address customer opportunities dressing customer needs

  • Collect, question and assimilate market and customer data to support market profiles with marketing team

  • Forecast business effectively using IBP tools, internal data and customer feedback

  • Communicate strategy to all internal stakeholders and seeks commitment for effective implementation of the strategy and ensure that relevant information reaches vital local department / function

  • Collaborates with technical services to deliver global TS strategy, to deliver appropriate service levels, collect market intelligence and quantify value delivered

  • Influence and inspire internal and external stakeholders to deliver professional quality service and a high level of performance

  • Partner with marketing to ensure alignment with business strategy and maximize overall benefit for the customer base


     



Bachelor Degree or equivalent desired

Good English skills

Broad / specialized Technical Knowledge of the industry / product base

Demonstrates capability to work in technical product environment with ability to sift through complex options and recommend viable solutions

Ability to interface with senior level executives

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions both in person and on the phone

Demonstrate Influencing and negotiation skills

Product knowledge and customer process knowledge
