Qualifications Requirements: A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering. A four year High school Diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of experience.
Experience Requirements: Minimum two (2) years of full-time satisfactory experience in supervising employees performing project management work on a construction project with a value of $1M or more and as a Field Inspector or Field Engineer in inspection of electrical systems.
Licensing Requirements: None.
Special Skills/Training Requirements: Ability to read and interpret contract drawings and specifications, Familiar with Construction Management Procedures and in-depth knowledge of mass transit facilities. Ability to communicate effectively with excellent written, verbal, communication and computer (MS Office Suites) skills.
Description of Work: The position is required for the Brooklyn area projects. The responsibilities include field inspection of construction work performed by the contractor to ensure that it complies with contract documents. Monitor safety to make sure that all personnel, contractor's and subcontractor's as well as NYCT strictly comply with all safety requirements. Candidate will be required to perform, but not limit to, the review of shop drawings and as-built drawings, inspection/coordination of contractual site work to ensure that the contract requirements are met, assist in the review of monthly partial payments, development of scope of work and estimates for additional work orders, coordinate TA Labor Services, prepare field observation reports, daily progress reports and assist in resolving all construction field issues.
