National Speciality Lines Carrier is seeking a Business Development Manager to be based in either Atlanta, Charlotte, Orlando, Boston or Chicago. First preference is for person to be based in Atlanta, GA. As a key member of the Business Development team, the Sales Manager Workers Compensation will report to the Regional Executive Officer, Southeast and will provide strategic vision and management of the business development functions for carriers Workers Compensation product. This position will be responsible for acquiring new business and growing existing business for an array of healthcare clients and prospects and successfully building a national, profitable portfolio in conjunction with our Regional Executive team.
Optimally help develop and manage the company’s business development strategy and make regular proactive recommendations for improvement as it relates to retaining our policyholders, developing new policyholders and growing our Workers Compensation product offering
Manage our relationships, strategy and outcomes and make regular proactive recommendations for improvement as they relate to interaction with and service to our direct sales team, interaction with and service to our agency partners and brokers and interaction with other company departments
Create and execute a business plan for Workers Compensation which is in accordance with company’s overall strategy and plan. Measure and monitor our performance against the agreed plan and intervene whenever necessary to bring us back on track.
Work closely with marketing to develop & maintain a library of meaningful Workers Compensation marketing pieces, proposals and specific presentations
Communicate product results and significant activities to board members and executive management
Work closely with regulatory staff to identify and recommend product improvements and coverage revisions
Work with all Regional Executives to coordinate activities in their respective states
Work with SVP of Business Development on evaluating and analyzing product tactics and coordinate effective responses to the marketplace through the recommendation of appropriate sales distribution systems
Identify, build and monitor relationships with Agency partners and other strategic partners designed to support business goals
Work closely with The Institute Director of Operations and underwriting team to create and grow the Workers Compensation program in all regions
Build a pipeline of new business submission activity that meets the company’s appetite and work closely with underwriting and distribution partners to build a profitable portfolio.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree required
Ten years of Workers Compensation business development/sales/marketing experience, including sales planning and product promotion within the insurance industry.
Experience within multiple distribution channels within the insurance industry.
Experience in sales strategy and supervision for a major organization.
Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
