Engineering Aide (Hudson, Ohio)
Our client, a full services material handling solutions company offering new and used equipment, equipment rentals, equipment parts, training, etc. (and more), is currently hiring an Engineering Assistant to aide in drawing layouts.
This position is a Contract without an end date. Client intends to hire the right candidate direct per performance.
Job Summary: This individual is responsible for supporting the sales and implementation of Storage and Material Handling systems by providing AutoCAD designs and drawings and ensuring uniformity and conformance to standards.
Create and update drawings for Sales Engineers, Project Engineers and Project Managers, including:
Proposal Drawings, Project Detail Drawings, Installation Drawings & AutoCAD Drawing Blocks.
Create Bound sets of drawings
Keep drawings and drawing sets organized and clearly labeled in drawing file
Maintain inventory and function of drafting equipment and plotter, including: Order plotter paper when needed, Maintain plotter ink and print head inventory, and ensure that items are ordered as needed
Schedule maintenance for plotter as needed
Maintain project files on the server
Create Mechanical Equipment lists for Engineering
Keep standard Operating Procedure (including drawing standards) current
Create and maintain Standards drawings and block libraries
Create 3D presentation renderings and animations
Assist in Field Measurements and data collection
Perform other tasks and roles as required
Associate Degree in Computer-Aided Design Technology, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (or related field) is preferred, and certification and/or work experience in AutoCAD is required.
Previous experience in an AutoCAD position is preferred, but not required
Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
Proficient in latest version of AutoCAD and 3D Modeling
Basic math skills and reasoning ability are required
