Job Description

Veolia Energy has entered a long-term O&M Services Agreement with Georgia Renewable Power. GRP is currently building two 65 MW biomass-fueled power plants in north Georgia. These plants, in Franklin and Madison counties, respectively, are targeting Commercial Operation at the start of the second quarter next year. Veolia Energy will be supporting the commissioning and startup, and is putting together high performance teams for each plant now.

Summary: Under general supervision of the Maintenance Manager; oversees and maintains warehouse inventory including shipping, receiving, and inventorying of materials and assisting with the procurement of materials needed to maintain the power plants and related infrastructure. Create and maintain accurate records and delivers material from local vendors to project locations. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  • Performs work related to warehouse receiving, inventorying, cataloging and purchasing of spare parts. • Responds to questions from and processes requests for materials from various plant personnel, including plant maintenance personnel, power plant operators, and plant supervisors, managers and administrators. Advises plant staff about their requests, and delivers requested materials to various plant locations. • Maintains accurate files, records, logs and changes to facility warehouse inventory following inventory control policies and procedures using inventory control module of the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) • Opens, inventories against requisition, assigns stock numbers and receives incoming parts and equipment, including scanning records and expediting receiving documentation. • Identifies inventory restocking needs, requests and compares price quotes from vendors, maintains quote file per policy and submits completed purchase requisitions for approval. • Performs physical inventory count and report findings per policies and procedures. • Manages physical layout of the parts inventory to maximize functionality and space utilization. • Develops and implements methods to improve space utilization in the warehouse, frequently requiring the use of a forklift and rigging to relocate heavy parts within the warehouse. • Maintains shop equipment inventory and tools, and researches pricing and availability of the procurement of emergency parts and supplies. • Performs basic warehouse housekeeping including sweeping, dusting, and garbage disposal. • Complies with safety procedures and safety/accident prevention manuals • Follows all purchasing policies and procedures • May drive company vehicle to deliver/pick-up emergency parts off-site • Performs other job-related duties as required.

Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience :
Requires a minimum of a high school degree or equivalent, plus prior experience in shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations experience working in a multi million-dollar warehouse, with
hundreds of parts, using modern material handling, warehousing and inventory control procedures. Prior shipping, receiving and warehouse operations experience with an electric utility highly
preferred. Progressively responsible job levels require additional years of experience, including experience in an electric utility or power plant. Additional education in business administration,
accounting or related field is desirable. 

Other Skills and Abilities 
Ability to operate trucks, cars, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment.  Ability to operate power tools used to build specialized crates and shipping containers. Ability to operate banding equipment to secure loads to pallets for shipping and storage. Ability to identify
basic electrical, electronic, and mechanical plant parts
