                              Licensed Practical Nurse


Provides technical and administrative support, non-clerical and clerical health care assistance, and health screenings, including vision hearing, and other age-appropriate screenings as part of School -Based Program Team which includes a nurse, social worker, administrative assistant and community health worker. 


  • Concurrently monitors resource utilization of supplies
  • Communicates with Program Administrator, MSN\/RN, LCSW and other staff, employees and other departments to coordinate efforts, meet needs and address problems or concerns.
  • Monitors department performance to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Ensures department compliance to Joint commission and\/or all applicable governmental agencies.


  • Assists the Program Administrator, MSN\/RN with the orientation of newly hired personnel to assure completeness and adequacy of such orientation.
  • Ability to recognize potential risks and hazards that may result from unsafe nursing practices, defective supplies, equipment, etc., as evidenced by immediate action taken and reduced evidence of incidents.
  • Maintains current licensure and BLS and First Aid certification.
  • Acts as a student advocate and follows appropriate chain of command when confronted with issues relative to management or patient\/student\/staff risk.
  • Investigates causes of grievances, complaints made by patients\/students\/staff and personnel.
  • Serves as a resource to staff regarding policies and procedure questions.
  • Follow up with In-service Training
  • Acts as a mediator in resolving staff conflicts as they arise to help restore harmony and negotiate problem resolution, demonstrating fairness and consistency.
  • Utilizes time management principles to maintain optimum productivity levels personally and for the department.
  • Participates in patient\/student care conferences, PTA\/PTSA, open house and\/or educational programs.


  • Assists providers in execution of instructions to patients.
  •  Prepares lab requisitions and performs basic lab test.
  • Enters and maintains data required for monitoring and evaluating ongoing HCiOS activities, student health needs, and school and student related health statistics. This includes medical health and social work service data.
  • Tracks Health Services provided to students by the health team.
  • Schedules appointments and\/or follow-up phone contacts for ARNP\/RN or social worker.
  • Stocks examination rooms with PPE, clean room before and after each student according to proper procedures in accordance with universal precautions.
  • Prepares, administers and records medications in accordance with policy regarding the administration of medication by Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Maintains Health Suite by setting up exam rooms for the following day operation, completes inventory, ordering and restocking supplies as needed.
  • Performs special student treatment as directed according to policy including administration of medications, vaccines, nebulizers and blood sugars.
  • Cognizant of the physical and general characteristics of the various age-related groups.
  •  Works with health navigators and community health workers to address the community health, overall health and insurance needs of children and their families.
  • Prepares patient\/student for examination, including assisting with dressing and undressing, draping, assembling necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Complies with all professional and licensure requirements.
  •  Assists with and\/or coordinates age appropriate screenings as needed, including hearing, BMI, vision and scoliosis.
  • Assists with obtaining a medical home for students including assistance with KidCare enrollment.
  • Works closely with school staff and faculty.
  • Assists with chronic health needs of students
  •  Administers CPR and First Aid
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Location: Miami, Fl

Pay: Salary (DOE)

Schedule: Monday-Friday
7:30am-4pm Or 8:00am-4:30pm

Requirements: LPN, CPR, First Aid Certifications
