RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Tax Accountant in Hebron, Kentucky (KY). Summary: The position provides support for all tax compliance functions with an emphasis on preparing tax returns & related workpapers. In addition, this position provides support for tax audits and the administration of the corporate tax department. Essential Duties:
  • Assist with sales tax compliance; including prepare tax returns, GL reconciliation, research, and maintain customer exemptions.
  • Prepares local, state and federal income tax returns.
  • Prepares property tax returns.
  • Prepare Unclaimed property tax returns.
  • Audit and reverse use tax accruals.
  • Prepare & assist with other tax compliance reporting & returns when needed.
  • Assist with fixed assets reporting & analysis.
  • Analyze all tax bills for correctness and process payments in a timely manner.
  • Addresses tax discrepancy notices and contacts tax authorities to resolve issues.
  • Provides support for tax audits & the tax department.
  • Prepare correspondence and supporting workpaper analysis.
  • Prepare statistical and financial reports, both on a regular and a specially assigned basis.
  • Able to prepare and analyze tax records and reports as well as claims for tax refunds.
  • Conducts basic research to interpret tax filing requirements.
  • Able to keep current on tax laws and regulations.
  • Prioritize workload depending on near term due dates and work closely with supervisor to file tax returns and pay taxes in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Assists with special projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate degree or higher preferred
  • Typically requires 2 to 5 years of professional level experience (law office, CPA's office or corporate tax environment)
  • Must be self-motivated, well organized and have strong innovation and facilitation skills
  • Proven oral and written communication skills, excellent business presentation skills
  • Basic office knowledge: phones skills, computer skills, letter (email writing)
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook
  • Keen attention to detail with ability to multi-task to process volumes of work
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels and across organizational lines, including business units
