Join the team at the Embassy Suites & Homewood Suites by Hilton Newark Wilmington South as our Dual Property Catering Sales Manager. The Dual Property Catering Sales Manager is responsible for attainment of assigned catering/banquet goals tied to the overall performance of the hotel. The individual will be responsible for effectively soliciting and securing new accounts, as well as servicing clients/groups where applicable. The Catering Sales Manager will work in conjunction with the Director of Sales or Director of Catering to achieve the hotel’s revenue and market share goals for the hotel. The focus of catering sales may vary based on the respective property the associate is assigned to (i.e. Social, Corporate, Business, SMERF). Management-level associates are expected to work as much of each workday as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities.   1. Effectively attain assigned sales and revenue goals, as well as solicitation call goals.
  2. Proactively conduct solicitation calls, conduct sales tours, and entertain clients specific to Leisure, SMERF, Business Travel (BT), and/or Groups, as applicable by property.
  3. Ensure that the Daily Event List, Banquet Event Order/Guarantee Sheet, and Ten Day Event Schedule are generated on a timely basis and ensure accuracy.
  4. Monitor and evaluate trends within your market segment.
  5. Grow existing relationships with assigned accounts specific to Leisure, SMERF, Business Travel (BT), and/or Groups, as applicable by property.
  6. Able to produce a weekly sales call schedule which addresses timely follow-up of all tentative business, maintenance of existing accounts, and development of new business, and priorities; along with duties assigned by the DOSM, General Manager, and/or company personnel.
  7. Complete all departmental reports and systems on a timely basis.
  8. Present ideas, expectations, and information in a concise, well-organized fashion.
  9. Make appropriate sales calls that meet or exceed company standards and that ensure appropriate business levels are maintained.
  10. Negotiate contracts, ensuring the best interests of the property while maintaining customer goodwill.
  11. Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  12. Adhere to hotel/brand established regulations, company standards, sales standards, and sales metrics related.
  13. Develop a full working knowledge of the operations and policies of the hotel and applicable departments.
  14. Maintain strong visibility in local community and industry organizations, as applicable.
  15. May assist in implementing and/or participating in special promotions relating to direct sales segments i.e. sales blitzes, etc.


Qualifications

  1. Hotel experience preferred but not required.
  2. Experience using software and technology.
