The Sustainability and Supplier Diversity department at Marriott International is responsible for creating the strategy, developing programs to support the strategy, and implementing those programs across Marriott International's global portfolio of hotels. In addition, this department leads the company's reporting on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance).
The Senior Manager, Sustainability and Supplier Diversity, Analytics is a member of the Sustainability and Supplier Diversity department within Global Operations (GO), which is known for taking ideas into implementation across all brands, disciplines, and continents.. The position will report to the Senior Director, Global Sustainability & ESG Reporting, with a dotted line to the Senior Director, Supplier Diversity and a dotted line into the Global Operations Analytics Team. This position will primarily support the data analytics for the Sustainability and Supplier Diversity department, as well as be engaged in and accountable for efforts including designing, developing, and implementing processes and reporting, to support the department's global strategies.
The primary role of the position will be to build systems and processes for analyzing a wide variety of data including quantitative and qualitative sustainability data, supplier and financial spend data, and evaluating and developing approaches to streamline all current reporting methods. Attention to detail and ensuring accuracy and integrity in the data is essential. The position will support data that will be leveraged internally and externally. In addition to analytical support, this position will also be involved in program development and implementation, particularly as it relates to the presentation and visualization of data to support the company's sustainability & supplier diversity strategies.
The Senior Manager, Sustainability and Supplier Diversity, Analytics should be motivated by challenges requiring problem solving, analytics and data management, as well as have a keen interest in the topics of sustainability and diversity. This role will work closely with Global Engineering, Global Procurement, Global Sales, eCommerce, and external organizations and therefore strong relationship skills will also be necessary.
**CANDIDATE PROFILE**
**Education and Experience**
**Required:**
+ 4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited University in Finance, Business Administration, Hotel Management, Sustainability, Procurement, Supply Chain or related field
+ 5+ years, data analytics, finance, accounting, hotel finance, measurement, analytical or program evaluation experience
+ Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office 365
+ Knowledge and experience with Alteryx, Power BI, Python, R, SQL, Tableau, and/or similar tools
+ Strong analytical skills with proven results of working with large data sets and information
+ Ability to travel 10% of the time, majority being U.S. based.
**Preferred:**
+ Experience translating complex analysis into actionable findings and recommendations
+ Education or experience with sustainability or diversity programs
+ Experience working in matrix organizations and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
+ Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and balance priorities

**CORE WORK ACTIVITIES**
**Sustainability and Supplier Diversity Reporting:**
+ Lead supplier diversity Tier I (direct spend) and Tier II (indirect spend) reporting, including customer reporting, platform management and 3rd party vendor partnership
+ Lead sustainability data analytics and reporting including customer carbon and water data, quarterly and annual scorecard reporting, and internal and external quantitative and qualitative sustainability practices reporting
+ Creating and distributing reports to provide metrics for internal and external stakeholders to include but not limited to global sustainability leadership councils, Board of Directors, customers, industry groups and global leaders
+ Collaborate with supplier diversity partners to collect and analyze organization databases which support diverse supplier validation (scrub, notification, system updates)
+ Maintain and update database that feeds eCommerce and sales platforms with quantitative and qualitative data
+ Understand and leverage the data to identify trends, insights, and be able to support the development of storylines using this information
+ Address data integrity issues and work to solve these
+ Document processes for each reporting approach
+ Manage ad-hoc requests for data
+ Develop dashboards and slides to support the data for various executive leader needs
+ Work with key stakeholders to gather data from numerous sources
**Sustainability and Supplier Diversity Program Support:**
+ Engage industry and internal resources to support the development of programs and reporting to deliver competitive advantage across all brands
+ Track progress of work and provide updates to stakeholders on progress of design and development activities
+ Conduct research and analysis pertinent to the development of the project(s) / reporting assigned
+ Identify industry trends, and competitive opportunities that are relevant to the business
+ Collaborate with team members on projects
+ Utilize Office 365 to create presentations, develop communications, and support projects and reporting
+ Review and respond to select sustainability and supplier diversity reporting questions in mailboxes § Organize and participate in stakeholder meetings (Avendra, NGOs, internal leaders, sales)
