JOB SUMMARY:
This position will actively participate in accounting including but not limited to, recording journal entries, assisting with account reconciliations, and other projects. Critical factors to success include: orientation to customer service, results and detail focus, ability to take ownership and meet deadlines, ability to work in a team as well as independently, willingness/desire to learn and develop, flexibility, and the ability to thrive in fast paced environment.
RELATIONSHIPS AND SCOPE:
This position reports directly to the AVP, Cash Accounting. This position is responsible for the timeliness, accuracy and completeness of the duties listed below and will need to interact effectively with other business and operational units across the Chubb organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Actively participate in the following processes and projects:
• Participate in month-end close process
• Research unapplied cash receipts to determine accounting
• Draft and record various journal entries
• Perform TPA and other account reconciliations
• Participate in various ad hoc projects related to Treasury
• Assist the team with administrative processes, as needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, with a major in Accounting or Finance
• Demonstrated integrity and dedication
• Financial reporting experience a plus
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong computer skills, with an ability to learn accounting and treasury software
• Microsoft Word and Excel experience required
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines
• Strong organizational skills and proven ability to work independently
• Must demonstrate an orientation to results
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Proven problem solving skills
• Professional attitude, appearance and demeanor
• Strong time management and organization skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Enthusiastic self-starter
