The Configuration Management Specialist provides support to the Air Force Civil Engineering (AFCE) Program Management Office (PMO). This position maintains configuration management procedures and policies, records and documentation, as well as, physical accountability of hardware and software assets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Ensures compliance with configuration management procedures and policies.
Establishes and maintains configuration status accounting and inventory records of all documents pertaining to Civil Engineering systems.
Maintains records from approved requirements through design, development, test, and deployment for each system release.
Maintains configuration control installation programs/scripts.
Maintains configuration control technical software documentation and database build scripts.
Develops and maintains system Configuration Management Plans.
Develops risks and Risk Management plans.
Maintains system repositories and requirement management tools.
Maintains physical accountability of hardware and software assets.
Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to any training made available by the company.
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output. Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.
Bachelor’s degree and the following number of years’ of relevant experience for the respective levels (or equivalent combination of education / experience):
Configuration Management Specialist – Level 3 (degree + 10 years of experience)
Configuration Management Specialist – Level 2 (degree + 5 years of experience)
Configuration Management Specialist – Level 1 (degree + 0 years of experience)
CERTIFICATES / LICENSES / REGISTRATION
Ability to obtain a security clearance if required

Proficiency in document development with ability to implement a high degree of professional judgment and a clear understanding of the information to be communicated

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
