EVP of Sales

Position summary: 

Company is looking for a hands-on sales leader to join our team! You’re the right candidate if you have experience with: selling enterprise solutions to health plans, complex health care selling processes, business development, contract negotiations, and generating strong business relationships. You passionately believe in improving the lives of others while creating value for clients, and you have fun doing it. We need you to uncover growth opportunities, bring clients what they want, and build and manage high performing teams. You should have a proven record of scaling revenue for new and current products within the health care payer vertical. You’re a high-energy and results-oriented individual with an entrepreneurial approach. You value collaboration, respect, feedback and working with people who have strong ethics, authenticity, and a desire to win. In this role, you will report directly to our Chief Growth Officer.

  • Manage the team responsible for prospecting new business and market penetration for continued growth and expansion
  • Be highly effective and persuasive in a variety of formal presentation settings; communicate effectively both inside and outside the organization
  • Negotiate skillfully in tough situations with both internal and external groups; can win concessions without damaging relationships; can be both direct and vigorous as well as diplomatic
  • Represent and promote Company in the marketplace through attendance and participation at industry conferences and events
  • Understand and translate Company’s business goals into strategic sales initiatives, including business opportunity analysis, pre- and post-sale services, and customer driven product feedback
  • Be a subject matter expert in Medicare, Medicaid, CMS compliance, Affordable Care Act and health care industry market trends
  • Ensure effective sales support and administration is available, including RFP/FRI management, finalist presentation development/support, marketing, communication, and training
  • Oversee and provide coaching to your team on partnership opportunities with cross functional teams to effectively negotiate contracts and transition accounts to Client Success team
  • Provide prospect feedback on Company product offerings to internal Company departments and influence product road-map based upon client demand
  • Lead, oversee, scale, and manage a team of professional leaders in each Sales business function: New Business Sales, Client Expansion, Sales Operations, and HovuHealth’s SMEs focused on sales support
  • Recruit and manage experienced leaders, create rapid onboarding process for new team members, foster collaboration within team, encourage continuous learning, and act as an executive support

  • Proven track record of managing and developing sales teams; demonstrated leadership through accountability, continuous learning, and improvement
  • 10+ years of successful experience in health care sales, 5+ years of experience selling to Commercial, Managed Medicaid and Medicare Advantage health plans
  • Experience with the Challenger Sales Methodology
  • Prior experience in cultivating and closing contracts with senior and executive management within national and regional health plans
  • Possess a "passion for excelling" and have a proven track record for achieving sales leadership targets
  • Experience scaling revenue for new and current products within the health care payer vertical
  • Self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced, agile environment
  • Ability to frequently travel nationwide as necessary
