The Johnson Controls facility in Marinette, Wisconsin has been in operation for more than 100 years supporting generations of employees in manufacturing, research & development, technical services & training, customer services, marketing, product management and more.


Our 700+ employees design, produce, market and support several leading fire protection brands including our globally recognized ANSUL products: fire extinguishers and mobile hose line units; specialized restaurant, vehicle, and industrial systems; sophisticated fire detection/suppression systems and a complete line of fire suppressing agents.


Every year, hundreds of customers from around the world attend the ANSUL Fire School to learn the basics of hands-on portable extinguisher firefighting and we hold dozens of intense product training programs where our 1000+ authorized distributors are instructed and tested in system design, installation, and service.


All job candidates for the Johnson Controls Marinette, WI facility must be considered a United States Person as defined in 15 CFR § 772.1 of the U.S. Export Administration Regulations and 22 CFR § 120.15 of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations.


 
What you will do
The focus of this position is to assist with environmental remediation efforts at our Marinette, Wisconsin locations. These remediation efforts are key to JCI’s commitment to protecting the environment. The individual in this role will be the project facilitator on environmental remediation projects and will be responsible for day to day activities, long term planning, budgeting, reporting, and technical review of consultant and contractor proposals. This position is responsible for assuring completion of required site activities and meeting compliance deadlines as spelled out in the site specific EPA Order on Consent. This role will report functionally to the site Environmental Supervisor, but will receive direction from the Corporate EHS group including the Manager of Remediation and the VP of EHS.  The position will be based at the Marinette, WI location. This job will entail less than 10% of time completing environmental related field work in addition to the management of contractor and projects. Less than 10% Travel.


How you will do it
The ideal candidate should have a passion for addressing environmental concerns and issues and will be comfortable working on critical high-priority projects. As the site contact for the remediation efforts you will be self-driven and will be comfortable working with and communicating with senior leadership and Government officials on a regular basis. Ability to multi-task, be detail oriented, and accurate in project approaches is a must to be successful in this position.


Job Requirements

What we look for
Required
  • A Bachelor’s of Science degree required, with majors in environmental engineering, environmental science, geology, chemical engineering or other relevant field
  • At least one year of relevant Project Management experience, working in a business setting with projects. 
  • Experience in environmental remediation is required 

Preferred
  • Experience managing budgets 
  • Experience with SAP software
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including:
    • Ability to professionally communicate with a wide variety of individuals, 
    • Responsiveness to inquiries and feedback in a timely manner.
  • A strong business perspective that includes the ability to work with all levels of the company, including site personnel as well as senior management
  • Knowledge and or coursework related to of waste water, hydro geology, water chemistry, economics, business management
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations and governance requirements on federal, state, and local levels.
