We're currently looking for an Advanced Quality Planning Engineer Production Engineering to join our team in Farmington Hills, MI.

This role will be responsible for reducing part quality concerns (dimensional / appearance) through early interface with design and supplier. The ideal candidate will have some knowledge of development and launch of the following interior & exterior key parts being (but not limited to) lamps, grille, glass, mirrors, CPM, console, seats, carpet, seals, and similar parts.

Job functions Include but are not limited to:
  • Coordinate supplier and design activity to improve parts through design lessons learned.
  • Confirming suppliers adopt all design requirements into their quality control plan.
  • Reviewing digital part data to confirm supplier inspection plans will accurately measure all critical areas of the part.
  • Managing suppliers to assure all quality documentation is submitted and approved on time.
  • Oversee supplier development schedule to assure readiness at trial build.
  • Support tool design and build to improve initial quality level off tool.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required; BSME or BSEE preferred.
  • Project management experience is required for this position; candidates must be organized and able to plan, track and manage large projects.
  • Knowledge of ANPQP (APQP) and ANPQP supplier documents, understanding of JD Powers customer satisfaction criteria (fit and finish, function, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of how to use 3D viewing software for digital confirmation of part design.
  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills
    • 8-10 years directly related automotive experience.
