Supervises plant operations and its personnel while fostering an environment of Safety, Environmental Stewardship, customer commitment, as well as meeting production goals. As a leadership role, this person must be able to direct his team through mentoring and coaching to develop excellence in the operation of the facility. The Shift Supervisor will review, prioritize and direct the daily work activities of the operations group during his assigned shift. They will coordinate the activities of operations and maintenance personnel during scheduled and un-scheduled shutdowns. The Shift Supervisor maintains and enforces company policies and procedures and provides training to his/her assigned staff. Support the development of operating procedures and instructions; assist in the evaluation and development of recommendations for plant improvements. Confer with representatives of other departments in solving interrelated administrative, organizational and technical problems
Associate Degree and/or equivalent experience coupled with operations and maintenance field experience. Requires a background in plant operations, including at least five (5) years’ experience in hands-on and /or supervision of power plant machinery. Strong leadership skills, oral and written communication skills and problem solving/decision making skills are a must. Ability to work on rotating shift, in close quarters and confined space, climb ladders and structures, tolerate heights, and high temperature. Experience with DCS and CEM equipment is desirable as is experience as a Control Room Operator at a facility with a PC Based DCS system. Possess or obtain a New Jersey Boiler Seal and an ASME QRO Site Specific Certification.
