Adverse event monitoring & follow up, phlebotomy / IV insertion, concomitant medication administration, demonstrates knowledge and utilization of emergency equipment.

MUST BE LICENSED PARAMEDIC

This position serves as an integral member of the site and study team including pre-admit, admission, orientation, conduct, discharge and study close.

Essential Functions:
¿ Performs conduct procedures in strict compliance to the study protocol, Good Clinical Practice standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP¿s), QA/QC procedures, OSHA guidelines and other state and local regulations as applicable.
¿ Provides assistance in the execution of clinical trials.
¿ Administers Concomitant medications as directed by the physician.
¿ Ensures the well-being and safety of study participants. Provides on-going assessment to identify Adverse Events (AEs) and ensures quality documentation and report of AEs and Serious Adverse Events.
¿ Provides clinical care to subjects in the event of a medical emergency.
¿ Provides administrative and operational support as a member of, and in support of, the site team.

QUALIFICATIONS:
¿ Education: Current Paramedic licensure in the State of Florida.
¿ Experience:
o 1-3 years active experience as a Paramedic .
o An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

¿ Certification/Licensure:
BLS preferred.
¿ Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: (Other pertinent qualifications/skills/knowledge necessary to perform the essential functions of the job)
o Able to obtain vital signs, perform ECGs and collect samples.
o Able to perform telemetry and insertion of intravenous catheters.
o Phlebotomy skill.
o Computer literacy.
o Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
o Ability to work independently and handle multiple competing priorities.
o Ability to work with tight deadlines.
o Strong attention to detail.
o Must have excellent organizational and time-management skills and a strong attention to detail.
o Ability to read, speak and write English fluently.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
¿ Routine standing, walking, sitting.
¿ Bending and leaning up to 1.5 hours - changing position approximately every 2 minutes.
¿ Lifting up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
¿ Variable hours including nights and weekends.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
¿ Predominantly clinical conduct environment.
¿ Non-supervisory, non-managerial.
