Senior Energy Engineer Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage large and complex energy assessment and retrocommissioning projects
  • Lead client interaction and set clear expectations
  • Detail scopes of work and coordinate with internal or external teams
  • Review all deliverables
  • Technical Support
  • Assist business development staff in scoping and pricing of new projects

Desired Professional Attributes

  • Experience working with building owners and contractor community
  • Proficient with system diagnostics and evaluation
  • Experience with facility improvement projects
  • Good communication and computer skills
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office software: Excel/databases, Word, PowerPoint, etc.

Required Experience

  • 10+ years of energy engineering experience
  • Assessing systems on medium to large commercial projects
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building control, and life safety systems
  • Ability to review, understand, and evaluate drawings and specifications
  • Robust project and client management experience

Required Qualifications

  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • LEED Accredited Professional (AP)

Compensation and Position Details

  • Moderate travel and occasional overnight stay required
  • Onsite work in occupied buildings and construction sites
  • May be responsible for managing limited quantity of direct reports
  • Participation in regional and national industry conferences
  • Compensation dependent on experience

On-Going Training

  • Stay up to date on emerging building system and software technology
