Summary of Position: 

The Maintenance Tech/Custodian is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the facility, both interior and exterior, as well as performing general maintenance functions of non-skilled and occasional semi-skilled trades nature. In addition to regular duties, will assist outside vendors with PMs, conveyor line troubleshooting and other projects including, but not limited to assisting with cleaning and maintaining efficient operation of machinery in the production areas prior to, during and post production runs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Daily:

-Must have Conveyor and PLC experience 

-Cleans the break room tables, counter, sink and vending areas after each break and lunch period

-Cleans/sanitizes restrooms and when otherwise needed and/or requested by management or prompted by employee comments/observations

-Empties all trash containers in the warehouse, office areas and outside areas

-Cleans the outside break area including trash

-Assists with miscellaneous PNP functions such as paper machines, box makers, tape change, void fill machines, box tapers, conveyor jams, etc.

-Conducts a walk around the exterior of the facility to ensure a trash and litter free zone, assists landlord with keeping exterior walkways clean, shoveled, etc. throughout the year (i.e., snow/ice removal, debris, etc.) and keeps interior flooring clean, litter free and safe for pedestrian use.

As Needed:

-Sources external cleaning and paper products supply vendors

-Orders replacement supply stock and re-stocks supplies as needed, including but not limited to paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, deodorizers, floor/countertop/restroom, etc. cleaning products, restroom and miscellaneous related equipment and dispensers

-Contacts and coordinates outside cleaning vendors for special or periodic cleaning (i.e., floor stripping and waxing, carpet and tile cleaning, etc.) when needed upon approval of manager or other Groveport Management

-Sweeps and/or mops the break room and flow-through mats on a regular (preferred daily) basis and the back offices’/conference rooms floors when needed

-Vacuums the front office carpet when needed or requested and cleans the front office conference room and kitchenette area

-Cleans facility entrance doors and exterior windows when needed, including glass cleaning

-Operates the floor sweeper/scrubber and floor stripping/waxing machine(s) on an as needed and/or requested basis

-Cleans all spills with high priority urgency with proper waste disposal and blood borne pathogen procedures

-Perform general housekeeping duties as backup to other staff

-Partners with outside, contracted custodial or related vendor(s) and Shaklee Maintenance/custodial staff to ensure a clean and safe environment while coordinating and overseeing the quality of services provided by any outside custodial vendor staff utilized

-Sets up and tears down tables, chairs, etc. for in-house special events/functions

-Performs various general maintenance duties on an as needed basis, including but not limited to conveyor and equipment PMs and troubleshooting/repair, painting, scrap cardboard and materials disposal, wire pulling, basic carpentry, low-voltage electrical, basic plumbing and dry-wall repair/installation, racking removal/relocation and other non-skilled and semi-skilled trades duties requiring the use of general hand tools, equipment and powered industrial equipment (i.e., forklift, stand-up lift, aerial lift) following established Company, EPA, FDA, Dept. of Agriculture, OSHA safety rules, procedures and regulations.

Qualifications

• Proficient reading and math skills required
• Previous related experience and proficiency in several of the required functional areas
• Ability to communicate in an effective, productive and understandable manner with co-workers, Operations Coordinators, Supervisors, vendors, etc. for training, supply ordering, quality of service coordinating and safety purposes
• Ability to lift, push and/or pull up to 25 lbs continuously when required, and up to 80 lbs occasionally
• Requires standing, bending, stooping and walking for extended periods of time
• Ability to use hands, wrists, arms and legs, including reaching overhead on a frequent basis
• Flexibility in scheduling is required, including weekends, especially during peak production times, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting functions and to meet optimum customer service requirements
• Must be able to effectively and proficiently use basic custodial and maintenance related tools, equipment and cleaning products
• Must maintain consistent, acceptable attendance, productivity and quality standards
• Will be required to either have or obtain on-site powered industrial truck equipment certification training and specific training pertaining to production equipment and conveyor troubleshooting
• Must be knowledgeable of and understand relevant safety procedures and adhere to such (including the use of appropriate and required PPE)
• Must be able to work independently, often with little or no direct supervision
