Description: The Due Diligence Underwriter is responsible for reviewing and evaluating credit underwriting compliance with all agency and internal company guidelines on pre- and post-purchase correspondent loans. This is a full-time, onsite staff position in the Horsham office; remote or work from home candidates will not be considered.

• Review loan files for completeness and accuracy to comply agency guidelines
• Analyze credit reports, income documentation, assets, liabilities, property appraisals and title reports to ensure loans meet company standards for purchase
• Evaluate debt ratio, loan-to-value ratio, credit score, property evaluation and various other factors
• Place proper conditions on a loan
• Respond to client questions and escalations quickly and in a professional manner
• Clearly communicate all decisions and mortgage loan guidelines to client and internal partners
• Analyze and identify portfolio risk using internal reporting and observation of client’s credit underwriting practices
• Provide accurate feedback for client quality and risk reporting

Skills & Experience:
• 5+ years’ experience in the residential mortgage industry
• Knowledge and familiarity with current mortgage laws and regulations
• High producer with attention to quality
• Customer-service oriented with superior written and verbal communication skills
• Effective time management skills, including ability to multi-task, prioritize work and deadlines, work independently and plan ahead
• Positive attitude and ability to build relationships with the team, customers and across the enterprise
• Familiarity with MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Access.

Required Education and Experience:
• Mortgage Underwriting: 5 years (Required)
• Associate’s Degree preferred (concentration in Business, Real Estate or Finance) or 5 years equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree
