Quality Engineer (Sidney, OH)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Daily monitoring of process (first time quality, ppm, component/process issues).

  • Active involvement/leadership in problem solving process (initiated by internal data and external concerns).

  • Active involvement/leadership in continuous improvement process.

  • Travel to customers or suppliers as needed.
  • Maintains and improves the current quality system.
  • Leads teams in the corrective action process.

  • Work directly with suppliers to improve the quality of incoming material with Central Quality.

  • Participate in the Production Approval Process (PPAP), Advanced Product Quality Process (APQP), and document control.

Key Requirements:

  • 5-7 years experience working with quality systems (i.e. QS-9000, ISO 9000, TS16949) is required.

  • 4 year B.S. degree or equivalent in a relevant field required.

  • Manufacturing experience and must be able to organize and manage multiple tasks.

  • Must be proficient at reading engineering drawings, specifications, industry standards and understand metrology principles.

  • Must be experienced with formal corrective action processes (i.e. 8D) and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Strong working knowledge of metal fabrication
  • Proficiency in the use of basic measuring tools, such as calipers and height gages. Knowledge of CMM equipment is a plus.

  • Six Sigma and Lean tools experience is desired.

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Must have a basic understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC)

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the PPAP process.
