The Lead Process Engineer - Decarbonization - Gas, Fuels & Chemicals will function as a technical specialist in a supervisory role related to decarbonization. This includes green fuel production and carbon capture, utilization, and sequestration. Projects would include Flue Gas CO2 removal; Direct Air Capture of CO2; Fuel Gas/Syn Gas CO2 removal; and Fuel production from Gasification of biomass to Syn Gas. The process engineers in the Gas Processing Group support projects for Carbon Capture, Hydrogen, Fertilizers (Ammonia, Urea, etc.), LNG, Gasification, Fermentation, Sulfur Recovery, Gas Treating, and NGL recovery and Fractionation. Previous experience in those areas is desirable and the candidate can have the opportunity to work in those areas if desired.
+ Leads Process Engineering evaluations for Decarbonization and related facilities
+ Provide technical solutions for carbon capture, utilization, and sequestration through Flue Gas CO2 removal; Direct Air Capture of CO2; Fuel Gas/Syn Gas CO2 removal; and Fuel production from Gasification of biomass to Syn Gas
+ Lead with technology to identify and meet owner needs
+ Provide the technology know-how for all our projects
+ Provide the project foundation with all process and technology solutions
+ Lead implementation of solutions through the project life cycle: feasibility, FEL stages, FEED, detailed design, EPC, and commissioning
Knowledge Sharing, Innovation and Technology:
+ Serves as a technical specialist and has knowledge and skill set to provide consultation and guidance to project teams in a particular practice area
+ As a subject matter expert, has additional expertise in a technical area, participates in professional societies by presenting papers, participates on technical committees, and assists with code/standard authoring
+ Is externally recognized in industry as an expert which enhances the Company brand
+ Assisting with identification of key client interests and drivers and may determine the key clients in some instances
+ Communicates client interests and drivers to project team members and develops approaches to accommodate these concerns in the performance of the work
People Management - (supervision, career development, training, mentoring):
+ Typically oversees performance management, career planning, recognition, learning and development, and corrective actions
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 11 years related work experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
+ 3+ Years Experience in Decarbonization (Flue Gas CO2 removal; Direct Air Capture of CO2; Fuel Gas/Syn Gas CO2 removal; and Fuel production from Gasification of biomass to Syn Gas) design or operations
+ Working knowledge of PRO II, Promax, Protreat, HYSYS and similar process simulation packages
+ Written Communications, Drive For Results, Quality Driven, Priority Setting, Planning, Delegation, Directing Others, Conflict Management, Informing, Listening, Dealing with Ambiguity, and Building Effective Teams
+ Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline
Preferred to have Professional Engineer registration or licensure, or willingness/ability to pursue such registration.
**Work Environment/Physical Demands**
Typical office environment, typical construction environment, extreme weather conditions, high noise level, safety hazards (electric currents, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals), atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation). Sitting, walking, talking, hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding, driving, filing, reaching, stooping, crouching, bending, standing for extended periods of time, lifting or carrying up to 40 pounds.
