Technical Trainer CO

Viega, LLC Westminster Full-Time

Trade Professional responsible for the facilitation and presentation of educational programs to support Viega products and applicable systems throughout the plumbing & piping industry. Effectively prepares personnel, contractors, engineers, architects or other end users to handle applications, installation, product updates, and industry practices related to Viega's recommendations and the plumbing and piping industries. Develops and maintains hands-on activity stations. Continuously upgrades training materials to ensure courses are up to date with industry changes and target markets.

• Conduct in-house and off-site training for personnel, contractors, engineers, architects, and customers; ensure training material is prepared and customized according to the target audience.
• Facilitate training programs utilizing handouts, workbooks, classroom activities, on-line job aides and PowerPoint presentations.
• Manage customer relationships during and after training courses to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Responsible for providing facility & interactive learning center tours to customer groups and events.

Sr. Technical Trainer; Training
• Mentor, observe and provide constructive feedback to Technical & Associate Technical Trainers including but not limited to training techniques, revising, and maintaining training material.
• Recommends and manages a variety of training projects supporting customer initiatives, including new hire training, continuing education, and training needs assessments; provides updates on project status and sound recommendations on problem resolution.

Curriculum Development
• Attend meetings with Training staff to brainstorm for new innovative ideas that will allow for additional curriculum development and upgrade of existing programs.
• Attend Industry seminars to remain up-to-date on products and trends; make recommendations on possible enhancements to Manager of Technical Training and/or Sr. Technical Trainer.
• Make recommendations for continuous improvement initiatives for product training including but not limited to review of industry best practices, competitor reviews, performance against target metrics and internal evaluations.
• Responsible for upgrading existing training courses and materials to keep up with industry changes; geared towards target audiences and Viega brand awareness.
• Responsible for maintaining each hands-on lab activity stations and workshops.
• Keep track of material inventory and place stocking orders for training items as needed.
Sr. Technical Trainer; Curriculum Development
• Work with Manager of Technical Training to develop new curriculum and training materials in conjunction with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams.
• Serve as subject matter expert for curriculum development, curriculum maintenance and instruction.
• Develop criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities.
• Communicates vision for updates and enhancements to hands-on lab activities with Technical Trainer and Associate Technical Trainer as new products and systems become available.
• Identifies and engages local trade schools and industry targets and maintains relationships with responsible personnel.
• Assist training coordinator in classroom preparation for training courses.
• Maintains ILC Vignettes (displays) for proper operation and utilization during training sessions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint,
• Knowledge of the Plumbing, pipe-fitting, and/or HVAC industries

• Senior Trainers are expected to mentor and lead others
• May be required to travel up to 25% of the time

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience
• High School Diploma
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferred,
• Trade School Completion, OR
• Plumbing/HVAC/Pipefitter license with industry experience, preferred
• 3-5 years of related experience
Education, Certifications/License & Work Experience; Sr. Technical Trainer
• High School Diploma or BS (Engineering Preferred)
• 3-5 years of related experience
• Trade School Completion
• Plumbing/HVAC/Pipefitter license with industry experience, preferred
• 7-10 years of related experience
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
