(SA) seeks a part-time Senior Analyst to support a Quantum Sciences and Engineering portfolio within the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E))
The ideal candidate will have experience in quantum sensing or timing and systems/electrical/photonics engineering for the federal government and industry
As a Senior Analyst, you will: • Track, organize, and prioritize industry critical component and supply chain challenges across the quantum technology application areas
• Track emerging materials, devices, and fabrication technologies relevant to the challenges above, especially integrated photonics
• Recommend projects that match up challenges and opportunities with sound economic analysis
• Develop project execution plans that best leverage existing infrastructure
• Follow any executed R&E plans and recommend any changes of action of these
• Organize collaborations between OUSD(R&E) and other government stakeholders
Work Location: On-site work in the Pentagon, Arlington, VA is required
Telework options are available within the Washington, DC commuting area
Travel: Some travel may be required
QUALIFICATIONS Clearance: An active TOP SECRET security clearance is required; TS/SCI strongly preferred
Education: • Master's degree in scientific, technical, business management, or other related discipline is preferred
At the discretion of the Government, specialized experience may be substituted in lieu of specific educational requirements
• PhD strongly preferred
Experience: • Ten (10) years' recent and relevant experience providing strategic technical oversight of projects
• Proficient in technical research and technical writing
• Excellent communication skills, unstructured verbal interactions, briefings, and meeting moderation • Ability to work independently with both junior and senior staff in a distributed environment while maintaining a strong commitment to deliverables scheduled
