Calumet processes crude oil and other feedstocks into customized lubricating oils, solvents and waxes used in consumer, industrial and automotive products and produces fuel products including gasoline, diesel and jet fuel.

PURPOSE AND ROLE:

The Scheduling Assistant will assist the production scheduler with daily administrative tasks and record keeping and serve as the backup in the event the production scheduler is out of office.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates work orders in SAP for Purchasing to order raw materials

  • Maintains daily and monthly production reports

  • Confirms receipt of raw materials for production schedule and if not in stock follows up with purchasing for delivery date

  • Review building materials for items that may need to be cycle counted

  • Establish and communicate the priority shipments to Customer Service and Warehouse Departments

  • Complete production orders and issue raw materials. Audits completed production order packets for completeness

  • Print bulk order BOL’s and requisite paperwork

  • Serve as backup for the production scheduler

  • Comply with all plant safety guidelines

  • Print and prepare production order packets

  • Scan completed production orders and file hard copies

  • Additional duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES:

  • Ability to make good decisions using sound judgement within a short timeframe

  • Highly organized with proficiency in problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills a must

  • Self-starter with the ability to prioritize tasks and deadlines

  • Ability to foster positive work relationships

  • Solid team player

  • Ability to support the strategic and operational direction of the business

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to effectively work with individuals from all areas of the company

  • Problem Solver with analytical, detail oriented and organizational skills

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 6 months or more of data entry/administrative experience

  • Proficient in SAP MRP System or another similar ERP system

  • Multi-dimensional skills regarding current planning and expanding to anticipate future needs of the organization

  • Good computer skills including SAP and Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
