Job Summary: This job verifies that the cars dropped off by tow companies are correct. Person physically verifies VIN#’s and assigns stock numbers to the vehicles. Verifies the “20 Questions” about the car (exterior and interior color, where the car is hit, trim codes, manual or automatic trans., engine size, 2dr or 4dr, power or manual windows, etc…). Brings that data back and uploads that information into the computer database. Also keeps track of vehicle titles, and writes the vehicle stock numbers on the car titles.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Verifies that the correct car has been delivered to us via the VIN#.​
  • Locates the vehicle and assigns the stock number onto that vehicle.
  • Gathers vehicle information (color, SDN, CPE, or SUV etc..).
  • Uploads vehicle information into Project X.
  • Files vehicle title work and assign stock numbers to the titles

Experience: Requires past experience working in the inventory department within the company.

Education: High School or equivalent.

Knowledge: Requires an understanding of the inventory process at LKQ. Must be able to operate Project X.

Skills: Must be able to read/write. Requires the need to use Windows. Must be able to type.

Abilities: Must be able to work outdoors (rain, heat, cold).

Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • Required to work around sharp objects. 
  • Extreme heat and cold along​w/rain (have to work in all climates).
  • Lifting and moving of larger items to get/reach certain needed information
