Job Description

The Schneider organization has an immediate need for an experienced Tax Manager in our Finance Department. The primary responsibility of the Tax Manager is to manage significant aspects of tax operations for the company including:  tax accounting, tax compliance, tax audits and tax planning, as well as tax requirements for SOX compliance.  The Tax Manager will work in a collaborative environment but also must have the ability to work independently while balancing multiple projects simultaneously. This position broadens your industry knowledge which in turn drives your career to limitless opportunities and positions you for interesting challenges.
 
As a Tax Manager your duties include but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for managing domestic and international tax compliance to ensure all reporting and filing obligations are satisfied accurately and timely.
  • Responsible for all federal and state tax audit activity.  This includes drafting and reviewing responses to information document requests.
  • Lead the research and implementation of tax planning strategies to reduce taxes.
  • Address tax issues with business subsidiaries as well as develop solid internal relationships with finance and operating departments.
  • Partner with other members of the Tax team and the corporate accounting team to manage intercompany transactions and assist in maintaining control and consistency of the transfer pricing process across Schneiders operations.
  • Ownership of the tax provision process for world-wide operations.  Including preparation of tax accounting journal entries, return to accrual analyses and financial statement impact of audit settlements.
  • Oversight for effective tax rate and income tax accruals in accordance with ASC740 for all regulatory filings and financial statement disclosures (10-K, 10-Q) on an annual and interim basis.  Prepare all required financial statement disclosures and footnotes related to income taxes for the consolidated group and separate company reporting entities.

Job Requirements

Our preferred candidate will have:
  • Bachelor degree in accounting required.  CPA, Masters in Tax or MBA desired.
  • Five plus years Finance experience with three plus years in public accounting required.
  • Experience in FAS109 income tax accounting.
  • Proficient with internet tax research and tax processing software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Excellent business analytical, organizational as well as workpaper techniques.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access.  Oracle knowledge is a plus.
