Health Information Management Coordinator Chart Correction Analyst works independently to investigate, correct and resolve documentation issues within enterprise clinical systems.
The Health Information Management Coordinator advises clinicians, HIM staff and other customers on HIM procedures and assists in resolution of incorrect documents and documentation related issues. The team assists clinical, finance, medical transcriptionist, dictators and administrative staff.

The health Information Management Coordinator is responsible for:
  • Utilizing Dolby Fusion, Provation, Cerner and Epic in performing chart correction functions
  • Performing record analysis and reconciles EHR/medical record completion as outlined in the Medical Staff Bylaws, JCAHO - Medical Staff Rules Regulations, and State and Federal Laws.,
  • Functioning within Health Information Management procedures/guidelines while instructing staff on the accepted use of the electronic medical record
  • Working closely with the other Health Information Management team, including the Health Information Management Medical Transcription Team, the Health Information Management EMPI staff on chart corrections, and resolution of mixed records and the Health Information Management ROI staff on document completion, to help facilitate the timely release of information
  • Working with many external customers including with the Finance Team/Coding staff on document completion, facilitating timely coding/billing

In order to qualify, you must have:
  • 2 years of experience in hospital Health Information Management department or outpatient clinic operation
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission accreditation standards and medical record documentation requirements.
  • Analytical skills to resolve complex problems requiring the use of scientific, mathematical, or technical principles and in depth, experienced based cross functional knowledge.
  • Communication skills in order to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions, or well developed writing skills.
  • Prefer -2 year degree health information or related field
