UITS is seeking an individual to assist the Web Services Support team in supporting IU’s central web services. Web Services Support provides email and phone support for users on IU Web services, including Webserve, Cascade Server, CAS, Duo integrations, and more.
Web Services Support consultants are the primary source of customer support for many users of the central web service, including both Webserve and Pages web servers. Consultant responsibilities include fully documenting their interactions with customers while answering inquiries and providing technical support and guidance for HTML, PHP, and CSS, as well as WordPress, the Cascade Server (WCMS) and the IU Web Framework. Consultants will work with both the customer and service owners and administrators to resolve issues and may answer questions about services including CAS and Shibboleth.
Consultants also provide support for web development applications such as SSH and FTP applications and are responsible for building and maintaining reference and training documentation in the Knowledge Base as well as other projects related to web support.
Note: The position is 20-25 hours weekly, between 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday.
REQUIRED: Previous customer service experience, ability to effectively communicate and exchange information, and proven technical skills.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision and are self-motivated and work well with others. Demonstrate strong analytical skills, communicate complex ideas well, and troubleshoot effectively. General knowledge of web programming languages and tools (HTML, PHP, SQL, SSH, SFTP, etc.); familiarity with Hannon-Hill’s Cascade Server.
