Project Engineer (Entry Level)

GARVER LLC Lubbock, TX (Onsite) Full-Time

Garver has an opening for a Construction Project Engineer with our Texas Field Services Team. The Project Engineer assists and acts as a liaison between contractors, engineers, and clients and will include the inspection and observation of roadway and bridge projects. This position is open to new graduates.

This position will work under the supervision of the Project Engineer or Manager assigned to a specific project. This position will assist Project Engineers and Managers as needed with inspections and documentation to ensure that the project is built in accordance with project plans and specifications.



Responsibilities:

  • Understand project specifications and verify compliance
  • Reading and interpreting data, information, and documents
  • Analyzing and solving problems
  • Performing highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks
  • Interact with staff, contractors, and the public


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or construction engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited program
  • Passed the FE exam, or ability to do so within 6 months of hire
  • 0–1 year experience
  • Strong ability to prioritize and organize
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and Word


Preferred:

  • Experience in CEI
  • Familiar with grading, drainage, paving, roadway bridge construction, and site design projects
  • Survey or materials testing experience
  • Strong knowledge of construction practices, materials, and inspection techniques
  • Understanding of Texas DOT specifications
  • ACI Certifications
