The Legal Department has a number of key operations to meet our obligations to various regulatory oversight and investigative bodies as necessary. This includes obligations to regulatory bodies of legal entities, both domestic and international that regulate our business as well as to civil and criminal investigation authorities or adversarial counsel. Legal is organized by Practice Groups that conform to the organization of the Firm's line of business and corporate staff areas. Each Practice Group has a General Counsel who is the Practice Group Head and who reports to the Firm's General Counsel. This structure provides the means for the Legal teams to communicate legal and regulatory changes to the business and staff areas and for the lines of business (LOB) and staff areas to communicate business developments that have legal or regulatory implications to the Legal teams in a timely manner.

We are looking for an AVP, Legal Discovery Metrics and Reporting to join the Legal Discovery Management Team (LDM) Based in Houston. The AVP, Legal Discovery Metrics and Reporting main tasks will be to analyze and ensure the accuracy of current/historical data inputs, generate and report business metrics/reports to upper management. You will contribute to and manage business process enhancement, automation, and documentation initiatives for LDM, as well as maintaining and expanding tracking and reporting on key performance indicators of the business. To succeed in this role it is key to be detail and quality oriented, collaborate closely with multiple Legal Technology stakeholders on database and platform testing, implementation, and improvement, while working with internal teams to define requirements for new applications. know how to organize and prioritize tasks and communicate effectively with different partners and stakeholders.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

* Generation and reporting of operational metrics to multiple stakeholders - Querying multiple databases and other information sources across the firm for various reporting purposes
* Generation and maintenance of various business reporting dashboards - Tableau, Business Objects, and other data visualization software
* Creation, maintenance, and enhancement of queries using SQL, Oracle, Microsoft Access, VBA, and/or other tools,
* Maintenance of Excel spreadsheets with macro-enabled forms to collect data; formatting and consolidating for loading into a centralized database
* Creating and/or updating Excel spreadsheets with macro-enabled forms to collect data; formatting and consolidating for loading into a centralized database
* Automating manual business processes via scripting
* Communicating results and impact, and providing business descriptions based on analyses and outcomes to a variety of stakeholders in both IT and business terms
* Participating in projects and initiatives related to data quality, data hygiene, audit readiness, metrics enhancement, process documentation, and other key departmental goals


Advanced expertise with:

* MS SQL, Oracle, and Microsoft Access. Professional SQL development experience and deep understanding of database architecture
* Tableau, Business Objects and/or other data visualization software, Microsoft Excel, macros, advanced formulas, and charting
* PowerPoint and SharePoint; Visio experience a plus
* Experience in automating business processes utilizing scripting tools such as VBS, VBA, and Python, helpful but not required
* Experience with Pega and Legal Hold Pro, helpful but not required
* Familiarity using data in a cloud environment, helpful not required
* Background in Legal and/or eDiscovery, helpful but not required
* Experience with presenting complex data to multiple audiences and stakeholder groups
* 2-5 years of prior experience as a data analyst preferred
* Ability to work autonomously
* Excellent problem solving skills
* Strong written and oral communication skills with management and other legal personnel are mandatory
