Purpose:

The Director of Marketing & Advertising will develop the overall marketing strategy, including promotions, media, and content production. This role involves creating tools for revenue generation, improving efficiencies, and optimizing go-to-market strategies. The Director must be a strong leader capable of driving marketing activities across all product lines, establishing and implementing strategic and tactical plans, and being accountable for results. A key priority for this role is to mentor and lead an internal team, developing personnel to achieve their potential. Additionally, the Director oversees the creative strategy and development of all marketing communications to drive traffic into our showrooms and websites, ensuring messaging consistency across all touchpoints and adherence to brand standards. This includes utilizing traditional and non-traditional advertising mediums such as TV, OTT, CTV, online video, radio, streaming audio, print, direct mail, search, social media, display, email, SMS, website graphics, and in-store signage.

This individual directs the work of the Advertising Department, providing creative support and consultation to managers and departmental peers to ensure consistency and excellence in all initiatives. Responsibilities include meeting advertising deadlines, adhering to budget requirements, and driving traffic into showrooms to meet or surpass sales goals. The Director will also supervise day-to-day management of agency partners to ensure goals are reached within established budgets.

  • Build and lead the marketing and advertising team, fostering a positive and productive environment.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align marketing strategies with company goals.
  • Provide strategic direction and accountability to team members, ensuring deadlines are met even with last-minute changes.
Promotions:
  • Develop quarterly ad calendars in partnership with key leaders and vendors.
  • Highlight national vendor offers in collaboration with the lead bedding buyer.
  • Work with accounting and sales leadership to create and implement financing offers.
  • Coordinate special events with sales leadership to attract prospects and past clients.
Media Placement:
  • Introduce innovative marketing ideas and channels to scale the business.
  • Enhance the customer journey and improve conversion rates.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns with agency partners.
  • Maximize traffic through national advertising opportunities.
  • Oversee coordination of print projects and media buying with external partners.
Production:
  • Collaborate with Sales and Merchandising to develop impactful campaigns.
  • Develop and maintain the Morris Home brand across various platforms.
  • Ensure timely completion of multiple projects, including ads, signage, and web graphics.
  • Coordinate impactful sale campaigns across TV, web, and print.
  • Oversee the creation and review of TV spots, video scripts, and product photography.
  • Manage the development of support materials and signage for events.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Telecommunications or other relevant field preferred.
  • At least 7-10 years of experience in marketing, with a focus on strategic planning and execution.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing marketing teams.
  • Experience in the retail sector is highly beneficial.
  • Strong skills in overseeing creative processes and ensuring brand consistency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in analyzing marketing data and metrics to drive decision-making.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with marketing tools and platforms, including CRM, CMS, and analytics software.
  • Experience in managing marketing budgets and optimizing spending.
  • Focused on achieving measurable results and driving business growth.
