The Nursing Staff Educator I (Wound Care) is a BSN prepared Registered Nurse who utilizes nursing practice, education, theories, and principles to help nursing staff achieve and/or maintain clinical competence in their area of practice. This person must demonstrate sound assessment and clinical practice skills, effective leadership abilities, positive interpersonal interactions, and strong written communications. This person will work in consultation with Nurse Educators I and II, Nurse Manager, Senior Staff Nurse, and AVP, Inpatient Nursing.
The Educator will need to include evenings and weekends in order to assess patients' skin/wounds after evening baths. The Educator will collaborate with medicine, outpatient nursing and outside facilities and must engage in staff education to improve the clinical wound care delivery of our current population.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Maryland required.
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification required.
* Current Professional Certification in Wound Care required.
EDUCATION:
* Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
* Masters of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
* Five years of pediatric experience and/or developmental disabled population required.
* Staff education experience preferred.
