CHENEGA IT ENTERPRISE SERVICES, LLC   Company Job Title: Forensics / Malware Analyst (DCO), SME     Clearance: Top Secret / SCI Location: Fort Huachuca, Arizona Reports To: Program Manager FLSA Status: Exempt, Full Time, Regular           Summary: The Forensics / Malware Analyst (DCO), SME will assist the DCO analysts with complex analysis of forensic, event and signature data as well as binary, mobile, executable code leading to the detection of a variety of threat types including malware and potentially advanced persistent threats.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)
  • Document the analysis techniques in a triage database to assist others in timely kill chain analysis.
  • Capture and perform initial analysis on captured volatile data, log data, captured network traffic data, etc. to identify any immediate intrusion related artifacts which in turn will allow immediate defensive countermeasures to be implemented. 
  • Develop necessary procedures or scripts to identify such data.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) on malware detection, analysis and mitigation.
    • This includes keeping up-to-date with trends in malware capabilities.
  • Use both static and dynamic tools/techniques to analyze and reverse-engineer malware.
  • Work and interact with other DCO professionals internal and external to Army Cyber Command, with Law Enforcement and Counter Intelligence LNO's, and intelligence professionals as a technical specialist to understand higher-level adversary capability.
  • Document, update and enhance processes and procedures by producing training materials, standards documents and reports.

  Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years’ experience; OR Associates Degree and 8 years’ experience; OR High School Diploma and 10 years’ experience
  • IT Level I; CSSP-IR; GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA), GIAC Certified Incident Handler, and IAT Level III Baseline Certification; Computing Environment Cert; ITIL Foundations certified (within 3 months)
  • Top Secret / SCI clearance required
  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Leadership and self-direction skills are highly desired. Ability to solve complex problems utilizing creative thinking skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to critically analyze and understand the systems and communicate system requirements to the customer and leadership.
  • Ability to provide on-call support 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Ability to meet eligibility requirements of a government security clearance for access to classified information

  • During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions.  Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
