The department of History, Law, and Society at Nevada State University invites applications for a non-tenure track, 9-month Lecturer of Public Administration - Law Enforcement.
About Law Enforcement at Nevada State:
The department of History, Law, and Society is seeking a Lecturer in Public Administration - Law Enforcement. Law Enforcement serves a student population of approximately 75 majors and minors. The program provides current and future middle managers with the professional skills and management tools necessary to succeed in the management of a law enforcement agency. Primary Responsibilities:
* Teach 24 credits per academic year, equaling four courses per semester (fall and spring).
* Teach lower- and upper-level courses in Law Enforcement in a variety of formats (e.g., in-person, hybrid, online).
* Serve on departmental and university-wide committees.
* Engage in professional development activities.
Required Qualifications:
* Masters in Law Enforcement, Public Administration, or closely related field.
* Evidence of strong commitment to teaching, mentoring, and working with undergraduates.
* Demonstrated commitment to, or interest in, working with a diverse, non-traditional, first-generation student population.
* Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).

Preferred Qualifications:
* Doctorate in Law Enforcement or Public Administration.
* Familiarity and/or experience with Canvas learning management system.
Rank, Salary & Benefits:
9-month. Non-tenure track. Budgeted salary for this position is $46,577. Nevada State University offers excellent benefits, including 17.50% retirement match, beginning balance of 30 sick leave days, 12 paid holidays, educational benefits, and three health insurance plans that can be supplemented with flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts.
