Manpower Engineering is looking for a Controls Engineer for our client in Sanford, NC.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Controls Engineer role will provide expertise in electrical controls design and implementation. Improve and upgrade control systems as required by changing technology and increasing complexity of product mix.

• Writing plc software programs and modifications for engineering projects for line upgrades and changes to existing and incoming machinery.
• Last line of escalation for the entire plant maintenance and engineering departments including the molding, coating, and assembly departments.
• Lead training for all new incoming machinery. Implementing new designs for hardware and software for continuous improvement on all the new assembly lines.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs conceptual design of packaging machinery and systems controls, including component selection, system integration, programming, and development of product documentation.

• PLC Programming experience using Allen Bradley and or Siemens.
• Automated Systems and Robotics experience required such as Fanuc robots
• Must have over 5 years of experience with controls design, robotic programming, HMI programming, variable speed drive and servo control.
• Write PLC and HMI code for packaging machinery using Allen Bradley and other legacy brands.
• Interacts with field service technicians and production to validate control designs and address improvements.
• Train technicians and production as necessary to support new designs.

• Efficiently and accurately create software for automation equipment.
• Works with suppliers to properly specify components, investigate new technology and procure parts/systems for prototype projects.
