Job Description

Maxim Healthcare Services is currently seeking a Physician Assistant to provide services at the Fort Leonard Wood Army Base in Fort Leonard Wood, MO.

Experience/Qualifications Needed:
Master’s degree in Nursing with a minimum of two year’s full time experience as a hands-on practicing full scope health care worker within the last three years
Schedule:
The performance hours of the military training facility are as follows: The providers shall be able to provide services between 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday-Saturday excluding holidays. A minimum break of 30 minutes will be given during the shift if patient care permits. Shifts may be 8-10 hours in length and 4-5 days per week at the discretion of GLWACH for a total of 40 hours per week. Work hours and days will be determined by GLWACH. Some HCW shifts may be less than 8 hours for example during inclement weather. Hours scheduled do not include travel time involved in reaching the MTF. Signing in prior to scheduled time and staying past the close of business will not be considered or paid as hours worked. Schedules are made in advance for a six month period. Actual hours up to a maximum of 40 hours per week shall be paid.
Position Details:
Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Team work skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment. Specific duties will include but are not limited to the following:
? Capable of performing the following tasks as a minimum:
o Manage cardiopulmonary arrests and arrange back up for EMS
o Interpret electrocardiograms
o Interpret basic radiographic images
o Direct medical care through radio communications
o Perform arterial punctures
o Interpret cardiac monitoring Infiltration of local anesthesia I & D of simple abscesses
o Suturing of lacerations
o Perform closed cardiac massage
o Perform needle aspiration of tension pneumothorax
o Perform adult lumbar puncture
o Splint and immobilize simple fractures
o Emergency endotracheal intubations
o Emergency cardioversion
o Obtain Central venous access
