Riverview Behavioral Health, a division of Acadia Healthcare is seeking a talented and creative professional to join our team in the role of Milieu Manager!

The successful incumbent in this role will play an integral part of the management team; developing patient programs, supervising staff, coordinating patient schedules throughout their stay in the facility. Providing safe and effective day-to-day management of patients on the milieu. Collaborates with nursing to provide adequate staff coverage, training and the enforcement of policies, procedures and protocols.


The Milieu Manager will be responsible for providing oversight one the units. Ensures staff coverage in collaboration with nursing and staff scheduling to make sure all shifts are staffed as required by regulation and safety needs.

  • Implement meetings to ensure clear and consistent communication regarding patient care.
  • Provide de-escalation interventions by utilizing methods for modifying behavior as needed.
  • Exercise independent judgment to adapt and apply assistance in specific situations with patients.

Supervise patient line staff by assigning schedules, reviewing performance and training staff as required.

As a team leader, must be able to assist with patients and cover unit as necessary to maintain appropriate patient/staff ratio.


Bachelor's degree (Preferred) with five years' experience or an Associate Degree and/or High School Diploma with 10 years' experience may be considered; minimum five years of experience working with children, adolescents or adults with behavioral and mental disorders.   Previous supervisory experience required. 


First Aid, CPR, de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
