(This position requires travel between the Mobile Branch and Harahan Branch multiple times during the week.)

Supervises the Inside Sales teams within territory footprint (2 or more inside teams) to ensure customer satisfaction, associate development, and the achievement of sales goals.  Travels to assigned branches to ensure goal and objectives of inside sales teams are aligned.


  • Supervises the distribution and allocation of branch inventory for multiple branches to ensure accuracy and efficiency of branch inventory efforts.
  • Tracks expenses and other financial issues through budgetary and other analysis to ensure adherence to respective branch budgetary parameters. Takes corrective action and implements process improvements as necessary.
  • Supervises the accounts receivable functions in assigned branches to ensure accounts are current.  Ensure branch accounts receivable goals are met.
  • Visits customers within each respective branch territory to assess needs, establish rapport, and establish accounts.
  • For assigned branches, trains branch associates on MSC’s systems and sales techniques to enhance effectiveness of Inside Sales team efforts.  Schedules associates for advanced training sessions with CSC training or vendors to meet developmental needs.
  • Acts as the point of contact for all communication with the call centers and ensures any branch issues that would affect call center operations are properly resolved.
  • Travels to branches to conduct regular branch meetings to address any open inside sales issues or opportunities.
  • Implements any process improvements arising from these meetings to increase branch effectiveness and productivity in support of MSC’s Lean principles
  • Supports outside sales associates by providing information and expertise to contribute to the success of outside sales efforts.
  • Supports Branch Sales Manager by providing reports, information, and expertise to contribute to the overall success of the assigned branches.
  • Supervises all administrative reporting for all assigned branches including reports for the CSC and local branch requirements.
  • Travels to suppliers to increase specific or general product knowledge.  Trains the associates in assigned branches in knowledge gained to contribute to branch success.
  • Performs all duties inherent in the position of MSC Supervisor as defined by the MSC Code of Conduct including hiring, termination, review, and development of associates.
  • Drives the MSC Culture in the branch and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC’s mission



  • A High School Diploma or the equivalent and a minimum of four years sales/customer service experience including three years supervisory experience is required. 
  • 4+ years related industry experience is preferred.


  • Advanced knowledge of branch policies and practices is required. 
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software is required. 
  • Advanced knowledge of MSC products, services, branch procedures, and sales systems is required.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel is required. 
  • Advanced Customer Service skills and excellent oral and written communications skills are also required

  • Position requires daily local travel within territory footprint (up to 50%).
  • Occasional overnight travel is also required.
