The Lead AV Repair Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the audio visual equipment for all academic facilities for the Glendale campus. This individual reports to the Assistant Director of Media Resources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Managing the preventative maintenance and operation of all audio visual hardware
- Coordinating repairs with outside vendors and manufacturers
- Completing basic in-house repairs and maintenance to AV systems and equipment
- Assisting with daily AV setups and projects
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing system and equipment problems in academic and clinical spaces with AV equipment
- Completing basic Crestron, Biamp, and Extron updates to systems including firmware updates, zone updates, and pulling software reports
- Acting as the key point of contact for all Glendale audio visual vendors working with the Media Resources Department for repairs
- Working with the Media Resources Production Assistant to coordinate shipping payment, repair purchase orders and equipment delivery/shipments
- Troubleshooting and repairing equipment problems while keeping department staff involved, and submits repair recommendations when appropriate
- Coordinating repairs with internal and external technicians
- Participating and assisting in all Media Resources projects that are not necessarily in job parameters (ie: computer installations, software instruction),
- Evaluating and providing quality standard recommendations for all AV services
- Participating in Media Resources special projects and events
- Other duties as assigned by Assistant Director or Director
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience
Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year College/Technical school required. Bachelors degree preferred. CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) desired. 5-7 years of audio visual related experience required. At least 3 years of high level technical experience in audio visual component repair, audio visual projection, sound engineering, and project management required. Understanding of signal flow operations and as-build drawings required. Crestron Programming experience, DSP Programming experience, cable testing and termination experience, and installation experience desired.
Successful candidates will be able to relay technical specifications to industry professionals while also being able to relay technical problems to novice users. This position interacts with all levels of management and will be required to manage technical malfunctions in a professional manner during situations that may be stressful (large events, high profile demonstrations, etc.)
Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Windows is required. Basic Crestron and Biamp programming experience required.
Intermediate skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
High skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Intermediate skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interests, commissions and proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
