Beyond a Resume is seeking a Scientist with molecular experience for our Gene Therapy client in Dublin, Ohio:

 

Job Details:

-Design and execute cell culture experiments and bioanalytical assays to support manufacturing, purification and clinical comparability of AAV gene therapy products

-Maintain clean and fully functional cell culture laboratory and adhere to all laboratory standards as defined in SOPs

-Design, optimize and perform analytical assays such as DNA/RNA isolation, cell transfection, qPCR, RT-qPCR, ddPCR, ELISA, SDS-PAGE and Western Blot

-Perform high throughput qPCR assay to support AAV production processes

-Perform AAV infectivity titration and neutralization assays

-Perform cell-based potency and other functional bioassays

-Identification and implementation of operational improvements and novel technologies to improve AAV production processes and key quality attributes

-Work seamlessly with cross functional stakeholders including Process Development, Analytical Development and Translational Research to help advance the AAV vector production portfolios

-Participate in project related teams and other internal/external collaborations

-Ensure the development of robust, well-characterized, high quality and high yielding AAV vector production processes

-Ensure that scientific and technical challenges are resolved in a timely manner

-Contribute to a safe, efficient and effective environment with personal accountability

Qualifications:

-Degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Virology, or a related field

-Ph.D. with 0-2+ or MS with 6+ years of related experience in method development and analysis using high throughput molecular biology techniques

-Experience with aseptic techniques and mammalian cell culture systems, such as plates, flasks and bioreactors for both adherent and non-adherent cell types

-Working experience in gene therapy and/or viral vector biology and mammalian gene expression is desirable

-Prior experience performing viral genome titer, infectivity, potency, host cell protein, and host cell DNA assays is preferred

-Experience with high throughput qPCR is required

-Experience with ddPCR, ELISA, SDS-PAGE and Western Blot is preferred

-Knowledge of analytical ultracentrifugation techniques (CsCl and Iodixanol) is desirable

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills

-Proven record of successfully planning experiments and executing projects in collaboration with internal or external stakeholders
