This position is to support Optum Corporate Services as a member of the FP&A team and is accountable for helping support the Optum People Team (previously called Human Capital), Optum Communications and Enterprise Integration Services (EIS).  This position will be a key partner of the Talent Acquisition (Recruiting) Operations team and partner closer with other Optum and UHG finance teams, to ensure that the organization is operating effectively, with sound financial analysis, and with appropriate financial and operating controls in place.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Optum Corporate Finance partner in delivering of sound financials and analytics

  • Work in partnership with TA (Talent Acquisition) operations leadership, Optum Corporate Communications leadership, EIS leadership and other business partners to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial packages

  • Partner closely with TA Workforce Management to ensure sound FTE forecast for recruiting and sourcing teams based on the relevant metrics and data points

  • Develop and maintain monthly and forecast financial reports to clearly communicate actual results, forecasted performance, and variances to plan, forecast and budget

  • Develop and perform all aspects of financial planning, budgeting and forecasting

  • Understand and incorporate industry specific metrics into reports to highlight relevant trends and support fact-based business decisions

  • Produce clear, well-formatted reports that communicate a clear, compelling message for their stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of financial and/or accounting experience

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Excel (experience with pivot tables, database / logic formulas, etc)

  • Ability to work in a matrixed organization and with a cross-functional partners

  • Ability to communicate effectively (both verbal and written) at both the working and executive level

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with PowerBI, SQL, Tableau, or other advanced reporting and analysis tools

  • Knowledge of Hyperion Essbase, Planning and PeopleSoft Financials

  • Solid attention to detail and accuracy
