The Senior Technician will perform a variety of technical duties using the appropriate standard practices required in the area. This role requires working knowledge of scientific and/or laboratory techniques. Also, a working knowledge of standard test & measurement equipment and practices are required. The Senior Technician will work under limited supervision, follow general direction for work and may have full responsibility for minor projects.


+ Performs tasks requiring considerable judgment in determining work methods and interpreting results

+ Document and record test data in compliance with quality requirements and compare results against predetermined limits

+ Assist engineers in evaluating and improving designs or processes

+ Provide direction or training to interns, contract technicians or lower-level technicians

+ Construct and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment and software tools

+ Build and test mechanical models, electrical circuits and assemblies, software, and/or perform basic analyses requiring knowledge of scientific and/or laboratory techniques

+ Assist in project planning and budgeting

+ Troubleshoot and fault isolate equipment

+ Adhere to environmental and safety procedures associated with lab processes and procedures

+ Perform other related duties as required


+ Associate Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering Technology, equivalent education in an associated discipline, or equivalent military training such as avionics, radar, power systems, electronics, etc.

+ Five years of applicable technical experience


+ Associate Technical Degree with a minimum of 5 years of related experience preferred

+ Proficient with test and measurement equipment

+ Proficient computer skills including office software applications

+ Medical device test experience

+ Experience working in a highly regulated environment

+ Proficient troubleshooting skills

+ Strong understanding of electrical, electronic circuit and measurement fundamentals

+ Certifications for basic skills such as soldering

+ Proficient use of basic data analysis tools


+ Office and laboratory environments, including electronic test equipment, machinery, tools and environmental equipment

+ High Voltage

+ May require movement of objects (up to 30 pounds)

+ 1% to 2% travel may be required

+ Occasional overtime required
