Position Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with mechanical aptitude to inspect complex machined parts. The successful candidate must be detail oriented, possess strong problem-solving and time management skills, and enjoy interfacing with others. This position reports directly to the Production Engineering Manager and is accountable for the following:

Essential Functions:
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings used to inspect machined parts
  • Receive incoming parts in proper inventory using MRP software system
  • Inspect parts using various precision inspection tools i.e. calipers, pin gages, etc.
  • Document and submit non-conforming parts reports
  • Disposition non-conforming parts using NCR system  
  • Communicate parts inspection results as need to appropriate personnel
  • Work with engineers to establish inspection guidelines and methods 
  • Work with the supply chain team to process rejected material to return to vendors or scrap
  • Prepare parts for additional vendor processing


Background and Qualifications Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent 
  • 2-4 years’ experience measuring and inspecting parts, or related experience
  • Possess a high level of mechanical aptitude
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with coworkers, vendors and other office staff
  • Work an eight (8) hour shift and able to work overtime when required to meet deadlines
