Job Description

Technical Sales Specialist, New York/New Jersey  Region
 
Kelly Services is currently seeking an Technical Sales Specialist for one of our top clients. This is a Direct Hire role with 60% Travel in the NY/NJ region. This role has a Base Salary + Uncapped Commissions!
 
As a Sales Specialist placed with Kelly Services, you will be responsible for all sales activities, from lead generation through close in an assigned territory. The Sales Representative will promote Solid Phase Extraction line of chromatography products (Note: Pricing negotiations are not required). Additional product lines may be included.   The Sales representative will work within the sales and support teams for the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term account goals in line with company vision and values.
The markets that the products are utilized in include environmental, forensic, food and pharmaceutical laboratories.  This position requires regular amounts of field activity meeting with customers and potential customers.  A minimum of 60% travel is required.  A working technical knowledge of chromatography or previous chromatographic sample preparation is highly desirable, but not required. When not traveling, this position is based at home.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS:




  • Meet or exceed monthly face-to-face customer meeting goals

  • Meet or exceed monthly sales goals

  • Proficient in sales presentation and communication skills

  • Build business relationships with clients

  • Prospect for new business as well as evaluate sales potential of existing clients

  • Communicate and collaborate with sales manager on territory goals

  • Utilize Technical Support to its fullest capabilities

  • Maintain our CRM system (Pipeliner) with customer activity and accounts calls on a weekly basis



The Ideal Candidate will have:




  • Strong selling/influence/persuasion/closing skills

  • Highly competitive

  • Comfortable conducting face to face cold calls with businesses within the local territory on a daily basis

  • Strategic thinking

  • Manage pipeline of 50+ prospects

  • Manage all sales activities, from lead generation through close in an assigned territory. Meet or exceed monthly face-to-face customer meeting goals.

  • Meet or exceed monthly sales goals

  • Possess good presentation and communication skills

  • Build business relationships with clients

  • Prospect for new business as well as evaluate sales potential of existing clients

  • Communicate and collaborate with sales manager on territory goals

  • Utilize Technical Support to its fullest capabilities.

  • Disciplined work habits



 
EDUCATION:
4 year Bachelor’s Degree BA/BS in science field of study
 
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 3-5 years of sales experience
Chromatography experience is preferred
