- Demonstrates basic knowledge of licensing and accreditation regulations to assure a safe and healthy environment for all Members.
- Motivates and encourages all staff in the structured day programs to achieve high levels of performance and quality of services to Members.
- Demonstrates ability to provide a nurturing, positive, individualized approach to each Member to promote their growth and well-being.
- Demonstrates skill sets necessary to develop individualized goals for the Member in life skills to be able contribute to a productive daily activity pattern.
- Communicates effectively with Members, family, funders, other staff, support systems and other stakeholders.
- Facilitates active involvement of Members and their family/support systems in the service delivery process.
- Demonstrates understanding of, and facilitates developmental/life transitions.
- Demonstrates knowledge of community resources and seeks to integrate Members in participation in roles in the community.
- Demonstrates recognition of, and properly reports suspected abuse and neglect.
- Demonstrates sensitivity to diversity issues and ensures that the culture of each Member is understood and respected by Staff.

Qualifications/Education/Experience:
- Master’s Degree in Recreation Therapy or related Clinical Human Services field preferred. Bachelors’ degree required. Certification in Recreation Therapy preferred.
- Two years of experience in a management or supervisory capacity required.
- Two years of experience in rehabilitation and/or adults with acquired brain injury preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, Publisher, and Power Point)
- Must become proficient in use of current electronic health record system within 3 to 6 months of hire.
- Must obtain ServSafe Certification within 12 months of hire and maintain certification.
- Must obtain CBIS Certification within 12 months of hire and maintain certification.
- Articulate, creative, outgoing individual with strong organization and communication skills (written and oral), capable of working with varied personalities.
- PA driver’s license: must pass Smith Training and Woods Goshen training.
- Demonstrate the ability to physically lift/transfer a minimum of 50 pounds.

Responsibilities
Assists the Director of Structured Day and Vocational Services implement the operational and fiscal management of Beechwood NeuroRehab’s Structured Day Programs: Clubhouse and InSPIRE (Increasing Social Participation in Real Experiences). Monitors program delivery to ensure a high quality of services to Members is sustained which promotes Members’ engagement in structured day tasks and activities so Members progress towards their identified goals within their structured day program and individualized Rehabilitation Service Plan. Ensures coordinators in the structured day programs administer services in compliance with regulatory standards. Facilitates the communication between the structured day coordinators with Members, their families and significant others, and with staff in other departments who are part of the Members’ Transdisciplinary Rehab Team.
Responsibilities
- Facilitates the implementation of program development in Clubhouse and InSPIRE structured day programs.
- Maintains structured day programs which provide daily activities designed to develop Members' skills and abilities to achieve their maximum potential of independence in the community.
- Assists the Director of Structured Day and Vocational Services maintain compliance in Clubhouse and InSPIRE with applicable standards, service definitions, data collection, and reporting for Beechwood NeuroRehab as a program of Woods Services (e.g., PA Dep’t. of Health, HIPAA, OLTL, DHS, CARF, DOL, IBICA (Clubhouse only), etc.). This requires familiarity with all applicable licensing and accreditation requirements and being responsible to stay abreast of the newest developments in the field and incorporate and implement changes into the structured day programs as necessary, and the ongoing development and implementation of plans to improve, expand, and diversify programs.
- Maintains a presence in the Clubhouse and InSPIRE programs to monitor staff performance as it relates to safety standards, therapeutic milieu, adherence to levels of supervision, active engagement and productivity of staff and Members, and other relevant standards.
- Ensures adequate program staffing by use of consistent practices in the recruiting and hiring process coordinated through the Human Resources Department, supervising, conducting performance evaluations/reviews, address incidents of performance problems and progressive discipline, discharges, and promotions, in accordance with the guidelines established by the Human Resources Department. Maintains accurate up-to-date Kronos records for hourly employees in the Clubhouse and InSPIRE programs.
- Ensures that Clubhouse and InSPIRE programs function as part of a continuum of services that assures therapeutic goals and objectives will be designed to provide brain injury skills training, assistance and/or supervision to Members in the areas of daily living, personal care, social integration, vocation, and community assimilation utilizing compensatory strategies developed by the Transdisciplinary Rehab Team in accordance with the Member’s RSP.
- Ensures that coordinators in Clubhouse and InSPIRE utilize cognitive, behavioral, physical rehabilitation, job coaching techniques (especially task analysis), environmental modifications, adaptive equipment (including assistive technology), and compensatory strategies to facilitate Members’ engagement in group and individual activities in order to maximize their independent performances.
- Helps Clubhouse Work Unit Coordinators develop and implement Clubhouse work (tasks and operations) in each of the five work units that emphasizes the work-ordered day promoted by IBICA standards and guidelines, recognizing that for some Members, this can be a life-long productive daily activity pattern, and for others it is a stepping stone to obtaining competitive employment.
- Helps InSPIRE Program Coordinators develop and implement social, recreational, and avocational group activities that promote social skills training, sensory/motor development, and reduction/elimination of maladaptive behavior.
- Encourages coordinators in InSPIRE and Clubhouse to facilitate community relations and program support for the implementation of activities for Members and other Beechwood participants to engage with other community organizations and businesses that provide opportunities for interaction with other members of the community.
- Facilitates program delivery to ensure a high quality of services to Members is sustained which promotes Members’ engagement in structured day tasks and activities so Members progress towards their identified goals within their structured day program and individualized Rehabilitation Service Plan.
- Facilitates the communication between the structured day coordinators with Members, their families/significant others, and with staff in other departments who are part of the Transdisciplinary Rehab Team.
- The Manager coordinates with Beechwood NeuroRehab Directors, Residential Managers, Rehab Care Coordinators, Structured Day Staff, and Clinical Staff to review and improve the services and activities to meet the individual needs of all Members to maximize participation in events/activities.
- Promotes monthly scheduling of special social events and parties and implementation of new cultural, athletic, educational and therapeutic performances, workshops and activities that meet the needs and interests of all Members. Some of these to occur during evenings and weekends outside of normal structured day programming hours.
- Monitors the operating budget for the structured day programs for items such as equipment, materials, supplies, activities, use of overtime, etc. Facilitates sound fiscal management and accountability, and assists the Director of Structured Day and Vocational Services in the annual budgeting process.
- Attends and participates in Transdisciplinary Team Meetings for assigned Members, including ITCs, RSPs, PRCs.
- Responsible for job training for all assigned staff and for assuring brain injury competencies for all assigned staff. Attends and participates in required training sessions, staff meetings, and special assignments as required. Assists in program evaluation and program development activities to make the program best meet the needs of the Members.
- Provides additional support to the Supervisor of Structured Day Services, InSPIRE LSTs, and Coordinators in Clubhouse and InSPIRE to facilitate Members’ interpersonal skills to enable positive social interactions, including developing strategies for effective negotiation and healthy conflict resolution, in order to improve quality of relationships in residential, recreational, and work settings.
- Maintains effective working relationships with all levels of the organization as well as with community organizations.
- Attends and participates in required training sessions, staff meetings, and special assignments as required. Assists in program evaluation and program development activities to make the program best meet the needs of the Members.
- Work hours may require evening and weekend availability for time limited periods, to support Clubhouse evening and weekend activities.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
